Information

  • When we developed the first version of Freezerworks in 1992, we did it with true configurability in mind. This means your workflow is supported by Freezerworks rather than your workflow needing to adapt to the software.  The configurable nature of Freezerworks further ensures it will continue to support your workflow as your needs and processes change and grow. A competitor may provide similar functionality in many areas. However, Freezerworks excels in how that functionality is integrated into your existing operations.

  • Freezerworks is available as an on-premise server. The server installation can be accessed via our thick client application or browser based interface. We also offer REST API that allows you to develop applications to read and write data via web browsers and integrate with other programs on your system.

  • Freezerworks server offers both an installed desktop application and a browser-based interface. The browser provides a subset of the most commonly used features to serve the needs of most users.

  • Freezerworks is a locally hosted application. Your Freezerworks database is stored on your computer or server. Your database can also be hosted on a third party hosting service, as long as the third party service has a Freezerworks supported Operating System.

Technical Requirements

  • Freezerworks comes with 4D’s SQL engine. 4D is a SQL-92 compliant development platform. 4D was one of the first development platforms to allow developers to build for both Windows and Mac OS. It packages your database engine and application layer and does not require any supporting software. 4D server is a “zero-admin” server. It is easy to install, use, and administer, and is extremely cost effective. For more information on 4D, click here.

    No additional licenses or databases are required to run Freezerworks.

  • There are no limitations within Freezerworks on the amount of records the software is able to handle. The only limitation is the amount of space on your server or hard drive.

    Freezerworks has been successfully tested to run seamlessly with 29 million samples and 29 million aliquots.

Compliance and Validation

  • All Editions of Freezerworks make it easy for you to stay in compliance with 21 CFR Part 11.

    The unmodifiable audit trail captures every modification made to every data field in Freezerworks and user authentication is required upon login.

  • Every Edition of Freezerworks is validated in house to strict standards to meet FDA, GLP, and all required compliance. Click here for more info on our validation process.

  • Freezerworks Summit and Pinnacle editions make it easy for you to stay in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

    In Summit and Pinnacle, you can mask your PHI/PII data, restrict access to PHI/PII data, and all viewing of PHI/PII information is automatically captured in the PHI Viewing Audit Trail.

Upgrades and Maintenance

  • Upgrading to the newest version of Freezerworks is seamless, and requires no re-creation of your data, user defined fields, entry forms, freezers, or list views. Upgrades to the newest version are included free of charge with your Customer Care Program.

    If you are not running the current version, or if you are interested in a more powerful Edition (such as Summit to Pinnacle) contact one of our account executives to get a quote on becoming current on Customer Care and/or moving to a more feature-rich Edition of Freezerworks.

  • The upgrade to the newest version of Freezerworks is seamless, and requires no re-creation of your data, user defined fields, entry forms, freezers, or list views. Everything you have already created will be preserved, and you will have the added functionality of the newest version of Freezerworks.

Features and Functionality

  • Yes, Freezerworks is used to track non-human samples, such as animal samples or soil samples, by many different organizations. The full configurability of Freezerworks allows you to track any kind of samples you want.

  • Freezerworks is fully configurable, so you define which data fields you want to track. Freezerworks can be used to manage any kind of inventory, and is regularly used to track dry storage and other non-freezer inventory.

  • Freezerworks is fully configurable and can support any freezer configuration. It can also be configured to support dry storage, or any other storage.

  • We supply and support a variety of barcoding products. We have labels, printers, and scanners that can meet any of your barcoding needs. Custom label formats can be added to Freezerworks for a small fee.

  • Freezerworks can be implemented very quickly, within weeks in many instances. The setup is all done inside the software itself, and is easy to do.

    Additionally, our support staff will help you with implementation assistance over the phone or via web meeting, or for the most effective and speedy implementation, we have onsite services available.
