  • Freezerworks is a locally hosted application. Your Freezerworks database is stored on your computer or server.
  • Your database can also be hosted on a third party hosting service, as long as the third party service has a Freezerworks supported Operating System.
  • Freezerworks is available as an installed desktop application, or an on-premise server. The server installation can be accessed via our thick client application or browser based interface. We also offer REST API that allows you to develop applications to read and write data via web browsers and integrate with other programs on your system.
  • Yes, you have two options for doing this. One way is through our client server structure. You can access Freezerworks on a shared network (ideally through VPN connection to ensure that your data is secure) from anywhere on the globe.
  • The other way this can be done is through our Web Services. Freezerworks offers REST API to develop applications to read and write data over the internet using a browser. Web Services includes our Web Client, a secure, out-of-the-box web based solution for read and write access of Freezerworks data. The service allows you to import, search, and add requisitions from anywhere using your internet browser.
  • Freezerworks server offers both an installed desktop application and browser-based interface. The browser offers a subset of the most commonly used features to serve the needs of most users. See CHART for more details, or talk with an Account Manager about what’s best for your organization.
  • Freezerworks comes with 4D’s SQL engine. 4D is a SQL-92 compliant development platform.. 4D was one of the first development platforms to allow developers to build for both Windows and Mac OS. It packages your database engine and application layer and does not require any supporting software. 4D server is a “zero-admin” server. It is easy to install, use, and administer, and is extremely cost effective. For more information on 4D, click here.
  • No additional licenses or databases are required to run Freezerworks.

  • When we developed the first version of Freezerworks in 1992, we did it with true configurability in mind. This means your workflow is supported by Freezerworks rather than your workflow needing to adapt to the software.  The configurable nature of Freezerworks further ensures it will continue to support your workflow as your needs and processes change and grow. A competitor may provide similar functionality in many areas. However, Freezerworks excels in how that functionality is integrated into your existing operations.
